Caregiver Job Description

A caregiver is a person assisting an individual to complete tasks which they cannot complete on their own.

The tasks may include but not limited to:

  • Cleaning house
  • Laundry
  • Assist with house pet
  • Cook
  • Help prepare grocery list
  • Help with planning healthy meals for a week at a time
  • Assist with personal hygene as needed
  • Assist with transfers
  • Run errands
  • Play games with resident
  • Watch movies with resident
  • Plan various activities (crafts, outings, daily routine)
  • Assist with doctor appointments
  • Planting flowers
  • Gardening with a resident whose therapy is his garden

A Caregiver Must:

  • be mature
  • be punctual
  • be drama free at work
  • be1st Aid and CPR Certified
  • be able to pass a criminal background check
  • be able to pass TB Test
  • be passionate about caring for disabled adults
  • be able to follow instructions
  • be able to work without being attached to your cell phone
  • be of good moral character
  • be able to follow rules
  • be willing to clean house – deep cleaning
  • have a positive attitude
